A few years ago I was going on 5-6 hours of sleep a night. The effects on my health, relationships, even my business were catastrophic. I won’t get into the details, and at the risk of being overly dramatic, I was literally dying from lack of sleep.
Since then I have made sleep a priority. I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. My health has improved, my relationships are stronger, my business is thriving, and I’ve recently graduated with a university degree. As researcher Matthew Walker says, “Sleep is my superpower.”
Modern culture tells us that if we want to get more done, sleep less. The opposite is actually true. If you want to get more done, have improved health, better memory, perform better at work and in school, sleep more.
